Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental – by Heston Blumenthal

Posted on Tuesday, 4th May 2010

So for a bit of gossip. A little birdie tells me (let’s say someone who is reasonably established in the London restaurant scene) that the name of Heston Blumenthal’s new restaurant will be ‘Dinner’! The restaurant will be housed in the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge. The famous Adam Tihany is designing the interior, and the kitchen will be run by his executive chef at the Fat Duck, Ashley Palmer-Watts.

This is probably the most eagerly anticipated restaurant opening of 2010. The restaurant is currently scheduled to open 1 December.

And following Pierre Koffman’s stint during London Restaurant Week last year with his pop-up restaurant, Restaurant on the Roof, the legendary chef has decided to come out of retirement. He will be opening up a new restaurant called Koffman’s at the site vacated by Boxwood Café in the Berkeley Hotel. Can’t wait to try that pigs’ trotter dish again!

And don’t forget about the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants Action Against Hunger charity auction. For your chance to bid for a dinner at one of the 50 Best Restaurants, click here for details.

    Hi Girl:)
Yes, the new HB restaurant should be wonderful. What a Christmas present that will be to dine there!
Had dinner at The Ledbury a few nights ago – 8 course tasting menu – it was absolutely wonderful.
Hope all is well with you.
