They are very healthy as they contain an abundance of goodness which includes Vitamins E, C, K and B6, but also magnesium, riboflavin, potassium and omega-3 (the same goodness found in oily fish). They are an ideal food to eat as they provide a slow release of energy which can help you feel fuller for longer and help you cut back on your sugar cravings. You can eat them smashed on wholemeal bread with some poached eggs, cut up into a salad or turned into a smooth tasty guacamole. The options are endless really. As they can even be used in sweet treats such as brownies.

Soft Cheese

Soft cheeses can be a great option if you want a cheese that is going to be easy to digest and can be added to salads or meals to add a soft texture. Soft cheeses like ricotta or homemade paneer (Indian cottage cheese) are great options if you want an easy to eat cheese that is also healthy. They do not contain any added ingredients or preservatives and are low in fat, so they can definitely be a great option in the dairy section.

Carrots

Carrots are an easy to use and versatile vegetable that you can easily add to your meals. They are full of goodness as they provide a variety of good vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A and B6, but also contain soluble fiber and water. They are an ideal vegetable to use if you are diabetic due to their low GI (Glycemic Index) content. You can sauté, roast, boil, mash or steam them, to add to a variety of tasty meals whilst also getting a nutritional boost.
